| The Library Services department of the library includes
the Circulation department and the Reading Room.
It has 3 360 users and the annual circulation of books is 59 824 copies. The Circulation
Department includes a special section of Regional Study and a Section of Books for
the Youth. The latter serves students of the Regional College of Culture that is located
in Kirillov. The Reading Room offers to its patrons' portfolios on popular topics. Also it has a paid home abonnement and computers for users. The Library Services department also has a number of special sections as a Center of Business Information that collects materials on the local government, statistics on the Vologda Region's economics, organization and small businesses in the Region. There also is a Center of Information on Regional Study where one can find both the printed materials and unpublished documents focused on local life in Kirillov. There are several clubs for the patrons of the library and it is also the responsibility of the Library Services department to support its activities. The clubs unite the people of the same profession (such as a club "Sign of Question" for the police officers) or of the same interests (such as clubs "In Front the Fireplace" and "Literature and Music Saloon"). The club "The Hope" provides an activity for people with a disabilities. |

| In 2001 a couple of new sections were set up at the
library. They were a section of Regional Study and a section of
Library Automation. The staff of the Regional Study section is responsible for
the creation of databases focused on local life such as "Preservation of
the Local Traditions for Art crafts", "The World of Local Culture",
"Unpublished Documents on the History of the Kirillov District". The Library Automation Section is working on electronic catalogues. There are more than 10 thousand records in it. Also it has a collection of CD-ROMs and helps the patrons to work with it. |

Methodical and Information services are
responsible for the organization of numerous information conferences on different
subjects of interest. The most significant were the following:
Many of the conferences are devoted to environmental issues. That is because the only National Park in the Vologda Region territory is situated in the Kirillov district. It's name is Russian North. |

| On 23-24 of May 2002 the scientific conference
dedicated to the 120-th anniversary of the Kirillov Public library will take place. It
will be called "History of Uezd Libraries on the Russian North." All
